Facts:

The Applicant, a customer of the Respondent Bank, claims that in May 2023 she entered into a transaction for the purchase of a landed property and, in furtherance of that transaction, initiated a transfer of ₦5,600,000 on 26 May 2023 through the Respondent’s mobile banking platform to an account belonging to Haven Global Resources Limited. She states that the beneficiary informed her that the funds were not received. Upon making enquiries, the Applicant received a statement of account for May 2023 from the Respondent’s automated email address which reflected the disputed transaction. According to the Applicant, despite the statement showing the transfer, the funds were not received for over three months, resulting in the termination of the property transaction and the loss of her investment.
