Access Bank Plc v. Lamuye

The respondent is a customer of the appellant. Sometime in 2008, she obtained a loan of N1,500,000 (One Million Five Hundred Naira) from the appellant to be repaid in 24 monthly instalments. The respondent alleged that in September 2009, she received a letter from the 20 appellant’s solicitors threatening to arrest her if she failed to pay her outstanding loan. Further, the respondent alleged that the appellant’s solicitors wrote to the police who gave her 48 hours to repay the loan or be arrested. She eventually repaid the loan before the repayment term had expired.
